Hello everyone. I am the Station Manger and Programmer for WDGP radio. Since I have put that into practice, it has been an amazing journey. I started out as a blogtalk radio host and then went on to have a show on Internet Radio and from there to having my own 24 hour, 365 days a year Internet Radio Station.. It is so true that networking helps you get to where you want to go, even if your not exactly sure where that is. This is where the path comes in. All I really know is that I wanted to help people, because helping others is the real secret. I have always been taught from a child on ( and it has proven true time and time again ) that if you help others you really help yourself and doesn't it make the world a more beautiful place when help each other?I help the Independent Musial Artists, Author, Spoken Word Artists and Poet get the word out about themselves and their projects as well as the the business owner get the word out about their business, product or service. Ah, the satisfaction of know that I am helping so many others is sometimes overwhelming but it makes all my efforts worthwhile.On WDGP we play the best of Independent music from all genres including but not limited to Gospel, Hip-Hop, Rhythm and Blues, Soul, Neo-Soul, Old School, Pop, Top 40, Blues etc. WDGP will not be put into a box, if the music moves you it can be heard on WDGP Radio.The music and the interviews are done at no cost to the Artist. If I had Known....

If I had known the man in charge was a crook I would have never gotten involved with the company, even though it was built around a great idea.

Internet Marketing is just like any other business, in that there are unscrupulous people just waiting to pounce on the naive and unsuspecting. It has been my displeasure to be one of the unsuspecting. An idea was shared with me that was totally awesome, if only the people that were managing it weren't scumsucking vermin looking for a quick meal.

This is why I always say that you need to to research any opportunity your presented with, and then research some more, even then you can still get burned. If your lucky and you pay attention to details, maybe you'll only get scorched a little.

This was the case with me. As soon as I smelled something fowl, I decided to stop promoting the opportunity and write off my investment as a lost. The company still exists, I think and I made a lot of wonderful contacts that I'll cherish for a lifetime. (You must always look for the silver lining, right) I don't fault myself because you can never know what the future will hold and what will unfold. What I do know is that whatever is going on in a business, good or bad, it will come to light.

This is the major problem with MLM type businesses. I am glad I am going in another direction, still within the marketing arena but more closely tied to music and entertainment.

I have partnered with a great guy who has knowledge, expertise and most importantly, integrity. That man is Glenn Gordon of Glenn Gordon Publishing. I'll be talking more about him and what we're doing next week. Except I want to say that he is the catalyst I needed to get this thing off and running.

The whole point of this post is to let you know that difficulties and hardships will occur. It is all in how you deal with it, regroup and start over. As long as you have breath, you have a chance to get it right.

That's why my partner and I are taking the good idea, improving it and implementing it to the benefit of us and all who choose to join us.

The System Within

I can not say enough good things about this organization. They are truly about helping their members grow. This past week end I attended a training seminar at the TSW mansion in Atlanta Ga. A beautiful place, I might add.

The Topic was Create Your Digital Profile, seems simple enough, doesn't it? I thought I knew all about creating my profile and although a lot of it I do know and I am doing those things, but this seminar showed me that there is always something to be learned. I came away with some new avenues to explore. Some new and exciting ways to brand myself.

In addition to all that, I got to visit and network with some awesome people. All of them members of this unique organization. In fact, the presenter is also a TSW member. This is what it means to network with a purpose.

Thank you God for putting in the right place at the right time to meet the wonderful people of TSW.

Social Networking and Marketing

I have been marketing via social networks for about a year now and I must say that in addition to being effective, it is also fun. I am meeting people that I otherwise would never know and what I am finding out is that social networks offer a unique way to brand yourself. It allows others to get to know who you are and what you stand for. I find that most people will ask me what I do for a living and when I tell them they often go to my various sites and purchase something. I am happy I discovered social networks and I will continue to use them in my marketing. I have even created my own business social network that is thriving with active members and I am adding more members everyday. If you have discovered social networks yet, why not start today with Internet Marketers. I think you will benefit, but remeber, do not lead with an ad about your business. Become a friend first, let people ask you about what you do and then gently let them know. It really works!

The System Within is a movement. It suggest that we search within ourselves for the answers to obtain what what we want for ourselves in this life. As an Internet Marketer, I have had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful people. Those who believe like I do, that the best way to help yourself is to help other people first. There are several people who come to mind, however today I will be introducing you to a young man who is definitely practicing what he preaches.
His name is Tariq Alexander. He is a young man who started as a model, to make some money while he was in college. He became very successful. He then threw his hat into the music industry and again was a success. Tariq then decided he wanted to make movies. He consulted his agent and business manager and was told that he would have to start over. He decided that he couldn't, nor did he want to do that. so, instead of starting over, he decide to do something totally against the grain. Which One is More Important – Product or Mailing List?

If you would ask this question, “Which one is more important – the mailing list or the product?” any savvy marketer would answer you, “The mailing list”.

Principally, any wise business person puts the importance of hungry demand (and not just any demand) in front of the product. In other words, there is no product if there is no demand! And a mailing list represents the demand or your business if you would like to call it.

If you frequent the Joint Venture forums and membership sites of any kind, you will find that product and service owners need mailing list owners more than the other way round. This is because the mailing list owners have the prospects that the other type of partner is looking for to sell to.

And if you are a mailing list owner, you do not have to necessarily make money from selling your own product. You can sell advertising space or craft a Joint Venture with product owners in return of commissions, recurring or not.

Most of the biggest success web businesses on the Internet today often establish the mailing list (or subscribers) first before the product. One fine example is Friendster.com.

Friendster.com, in the nutshell, is a website that connects friends and potential friends from around the world through a free membership access.

While Friendster.com does not make money from the number of members who join the site, the business makes money from selling advertising space and partnering with other big time merchants and businesses, owing to the established number of members Friendster.com has recruited.

This business is perfect example that demonstrates why every business should establish a need or demand before the product itself, and why you should do the same, whether you run a friends site or not.

Generating Revenue with Good Planning

For anything to work well, care must be taken to make firm, workable plans to execute it and the same goes for website designs. With a well thought out website design, you will be able to create a site that generates multiple streams of revenue for you. In fact, may websites turn into online wasteland because they are not well planned and do not get a single visitor. Gradually, the webmaster will not be motivated to update it anymore and it turns into wasted cyberspace.

The crucial point of planning your site is optimizing it for revenue if you want to gain any income from the site. Divide your site into major blocks, ordered by themes, and start building new pages and subsections in those blocks. For example, you might have a "food" section, an "accomodation" section and an "entertainment" section for a tourism site. You can then write and publish relevant articles in the respective sections to attract a stream of traffic that comes looking for further information.

When you have a broader, better-defined scope of themes for your website, you can sell space on your pages to people interested in advertising on your page. You can also earn from programs like Google's Adsense and Yahoo! Search Marketing if people surf to those themed pages and click on the ads. For this very reason, the advertisement blocks on your pages need to be relevant to the content, so a themed page fits that criteria perfectly.

Well, we have to face facts, and a fact is that social networking is a good tool for the Internet marketer. It allows you to brand yourself in whatever niche you desire. You basically sell yourself to others and once they believe that you are a real person and that you are honest they will trust you. It is also true that people do business with other people that they trust. This relationship is built up over time and never rushed but nurtured into a healthy business relationship with a dose of care and concern.
Many people lead with what they have to offer you and why it's the best thing since the can opener. The savvy marketer will offer friendship and friendly comments that add some value to the contact. Perhaps the person listed a hobby wood-working, and you know something about it, suggest a different technique or a new tool that might help them out. This conveys your openness and shows you paid attention to the information that they shared. Then when there is a opening you let them know what you do but never give a sales pitch. Example, I have an online gift store but I don't mention that until my new friend ask me about what I do or expresseses a need and then I tell them about a unique online store where they might find the perfect item for their occasion.
It's all in how you work it.

Marketing via Social Networking

I have recently been bitten by the social networking bug. I have been using Black Planet, sporadically, for the last ten years or more. It was one of the first sites I joined when I started using the Internet. The other site morphed into AOL Black Voices which is nothing like the the original site so I am no longer involved with that one. Lately I have joined Facebook and Tagged. These are fun and I have met a lot of wonderful people, one who directed me to Zen Zuu, a social network that pays members with revenues from advertisers for doing what you do on social networks. To earn this money members must log on at least 30 times in a month and invite friends to join. I was also introduced to Yuwie, another social networking site that pays it's members with a portion of advertising revenue. There is one more that I recently joined and although I haven't been involved long enough to make any money, they appear to be very serious. When you join, you sign up a debit card which is used to pay you. It's really quite neat. They are called 6dgr.com I have also started my own social network on Ning called 101 Internet Marketing, which is free to join and network but does not pay it's members, it is a place for novices and pros alike to share information and expertise as well as their business opportunities to learn and promote from and to each other. These sites provide a couple of opportunities to generate income. 1. They will pay you (with the exception of Internet Marketing) , 2. you can build relationships and share your business with friends, and 3. You can purchase ad space and market yourself to the entire network. This is a win win situation. I really like this way of doing business. Not only do you make money but you have fun doing it and you build lasting growing relationships. Let' face it, most people would rather do business with someone they know and / or trust. If you haven't thought about using this medium, perhaps you should give it a try. After all, what do you have to lose? In this day and time, I think we should all be striving to find other income streams and this could very well be an easy and fun one to generate.
